Proposal Form Template

This form can be completed on the Open Journal System.

Here you can submit your proposal to develop your 3D project into a 3D Scholarly Edition using the PURE3D infrastructure. PURE3D invites submissions on a rolling basis and accepts projects which use 3D models as the central component for making a scholarly argument, developing hypotheses, or answering research questions. Projects including but not limited to the fields of heritage, archaeology, history, museology, architecture, anthropology, forensics, and engineering will be considered. 3D models can be in the form of digitized objects, structures, landscapes etc. or reconstructed environments in computer graphics. Models can be project-specific or created by a heritage institution and must be free from copyright (or copyright explicitly obtained). For all other requirements, please review our submission guidelines.

To submit your proposal, please answer the following questions:

  1. Full Name
  2. Affiliation
  3. Email address
  4. For what purpose was the model created? (please provide links to any existing websites, research articles, etc.) (max. 150 words)
  5. What is the research argument or narrative that you would like to develop, and how do you intend to use the 3D model as the central component for your argument/narrative? (max. 500 words)
  6. Why is 3D visualization an appropriate means for presenting your argument/narrative? (max. 150 words)
  7. Who is the intended audience of your 3D model? Please list any that apply: the general public, specialist/non-academics (e.g. WWI experts who are not academics), students (primary, secondary, or university), other (please name).
  8. Could you give an indication of the material you have available to contextualize your 3D model(s)? Both in terms of formats as well as quantity. (max. 200 words)
  9. Upload your 3D model (please make sure it conforms to the technical requirements outlined in the submission guidelines).
  10. PURE3D cannot be held responsible for any copyright infringement by authors. Please confirm that you hold the copyright or have obtained permission for the material used in this edition.
